Getting A Tan The Safe Way
Have you heard the news? After years of believing that tanning beds are safer than the sun, researchers have now said that using tanning beds can be as deadly as being exposed to arsenic. This is a huge shock for those who regularly went to tanning beds to get that beautiful, tanned look, without the risk of cancer.
The truth is, the sun is actually great for the skin in moderation. It gives energy, helps the body, nourishes the skin, and gives you a beautiful glow. The days of staying away from the rays are in the past, and more people turn back to sun bathing as a summer past time.
The trick is to keep yourself safe. The main way to do this is by being careful of how often you lay out in the sun, not staying away from it completely. Laying out a few times a week has major benefits, as long as you wear proper sunscreen with a high SPF rating all over your body.
You should also stay away from heavily reflective surfaces, so be sure not to use anything that is meant to direct sunlight to a specific area, like a face screen. These may have seemed like a good idea in the 60’s, but we know better now.
